WelcomeSmugglers Cove is a WTB 4 star self catering holiday cottage accommodating 14 to 18 people in 7 bedrooms, ideal for family reunions, celebrations and ‘Get Togethers’. The property consists of 2 closely adjacent buildings, Chapel House with 5 bedrooms, & Quarry Cottage with 2 bedrooms. The property is rented as a single holiday let.
Located on the edge of our own boatyard on the banks of the river Dyfi estuary, in an area of Special Scientific Interest on the southern boundary of the Snowdonia National Park, Smugglers Cove is a stunning renovation of a period property making it one of the most exciting holiday lets on the Welsh Coast.
Entirely renovated in 2006 to a design by eco architects ‘Simmonds Mills’ & with assistance from the Wales Tourist Board, it is furnished in comfortable country style, with log burners, & a four poster bed. There is full gas centrally heating with solid floors & rugs on the ground floor & wooden floors on the upper floor. Both Chapel House & Quarry Cottage have kitchens, dining area & lounge with the kitchen in Chapel House large enough to cater for all the party & dining table large enough for the whole party to be seated around together. Four of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with ground floor access.
Free wi-fi is available.
Outside there are seating areas, BBQ & exclusive access through our boatyard to the Dyfi Estuary foreshore & tidal beach. For boat lovers, there is a slipway, hardstanding & moorings.
Smugglers Cove is a paradise for dogs... with a warm welcome to boot!
We have a considerable private beach for daily runs covered in an abundance of drift wood for stick throwing and retrieving. Behind us we have fantastic hills, mountains and forestry areas for good long walks (including Cadair Idris only 20 minutes away by car) and Aberdyfi beach and sand dunes for those longing an expanse of golden sand! (Dogs are allowed in most areas other than children's play areas and the section of beach directly in front of the main car park (1 Apr - 30 Sep)). The private beach leads onto the river Dyfi and estuary for swimming during all tides (please be aware of the currents of course!).
We have an outside tap at the cottage for watering and washing your four-legged friend along with others in the vicinity for convenience. We even provide outside drinking bowls too! We do charge £25 extra per dog to cover the extra cleaning costs and do ask that you to keep them off the sofas (especially when wet!).
Under the bridge on the way to the foreshore we have a poo bag dispenser (just in case you forget yours) and we ask that you clean up after and dispose of the used bags in the green bin provided by the camping toilet block or general waste in the cottages.
